It's a girl...!

A rather eventful day.

First off, at about 9am Linda texted me to say that Pamela had a baby girl early this morning. A tiny little 6lbs 12oz. Its four days early. Its rather romantic actually, because its Pamela's (and Linda's!) 1st wedding anniversary in six days. Anyway, I'm gearing up for a weekend in Mothercare and a bout of going all girly and uhming and awhing over the baby. Do I get all broody? I usually say "No" but yesterday at the theme park, I couldn't stop looking at all the kids and thinking about maybe having some of my own one day. I guess my bodyclock is trying to tell my subconscious something...

My dad's car got hit sometime this evening. Anna came back from her friend's house and reported it to us. The wing mirror was ripped off and all you can see is wires sticking out of the side. Dad's pretty mad to say the least... He phoned the police and asked them what the were gonna do about it. I'm guessing the answer wasn't what he wanted to hear...

A fly has just come through the window. Anna doesn't want it in here while she's asleep. She's currently chasing it aorund the room wielding a wooden hanger and carrying a clothes-horse. I have no idea why but its thoroughly entertaining form where I'm sitting! Oh, for a camera...!!

Thorpe Park

Yes, I spent my Bank Holiday weekend visiting a theme park with Andrew. Usually it all ends in tears and everywhere is so crowded you believe that the mere thought of leaving your bed was a bad idea.

Funnily enough, the road was pretty decent, and we even had to pass through roadworks (during which time we actually missed our turn-off) and it only took an hour to go 45 miles. Cool huh?

So we went on all the 5-star intensity rides and only did one kiddie-ride. Rides included Colloseus, the world's longest 10-loop rollercoaster (twice!) and the v cool Nemisis ride that was way better than the one at Alton Towers and only slightly better than the Vampire at Chessington. Oh and Tidal Wave which is a water ride where a boat goes up v high and then slides down so fast that everyone in the boat is drenched. And then, just to take it a step further, the water hits the roof of a bridge that is positioned just so when the boat floats underneath it, the water hits you again. You get hit by the water twice, as if the first time wasn't enough! There were a lot of people standing under the bridge roof just to get wet, and people taking photos of others deliberately standing in the way of the water wave.

I got home feeling really tired and actually ached rather. Chris, my baby bro, was full of beans on the other hand, still mega jazzed from the Reading Festival. He was part of the mud-slinging, urine-filled-bottle-throwing, banner-wielding, alcohol-fuelled mob that occupied a quagmire in Reading for four days and paid over £100 for the privilege.

And the rest of the family came home after spending a day in Whitstable and sitting in traffic on the A2.

I did good.

Genesis

Well, we all have to start at the beginning and this is mine. I'm guessing it makes a nice change to actually publish my weekly rantings/thoughts/musings etc to the world rather than just emailing them to a select few. Hey, maybe a couple of long-lost friends from the past may discover this blog and contact me! Who knows?

This is really just a test so I can see how it all looks on the WWW and I'll prolly play about with the format a little until I am satisfied... Besides, this is easier to do than my webpage and will prolly end up being a damn sight more interesting too! Que sera sera...
